HTC, Microsoft, New Release »

[14 Sep 2009 | No Comment | ]

It seems that HTC have been keeping themselves busy with the 1GHz Snapdragon platform and some leaked shots have just revealed the HTC Leo (or should we say HTC Pro Three), which runs on the 1GHzCPU and boasts a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen for some good measure.

HTC Leo specs have been in the rumor mill for quite some time now, but this is definitely the first time it leaks in live shots - though now that we see it, there seem to be some quite correct digital renderings floating around the …

Check it suits, Nokia just spat another E-series device into the boardroom. What the E52 lacks in looks it makes up for with battery specs: 8 hours of talk or 23 days of standby. Otherwise it’s an A-GPS, WiFi, HSUPA data, and 3.2 megapixel candybar with generous support for your IT environments via built-in mobile VPN, Call Connect, and choice of corporate email options including Nokia Messaging, Exchange, and yes, Lotus Notes too for all you accountants. Ships in the second half of the year for €245, pre-subsidy and pre-tax. …

We’ve obtained pictures of a device that we’re told is the ”Onyx,” a 3G-enabled GSM BlackBerry that looks like a slightly sexier, smaller version of the Bold with some Niagara / Tour genes thrown in for good measure. We’d previously heard that this phone is ultimately destined for AT&T (while a UMA-enabled version might come to T-Mobile as the Driftwood), which definitely takes the edge off of the impending 8900 launch over there — but then again, this is a prototype, and it’ll be many moons (at best) before this thing gets launched. Every time we look at …

A CrackBerry.com Hands-On First Look at the BlackBerry Curve 8520…

A New “Low End” BlackBerry That Rocks?!
Rumors of a new BlackBerry with the codename “Gemini” have been running around the interwebs since early 2009, evolving slightly with every new blog post made about it. After some back and forth on device model number (previously labeled as the  8325 after someinitial confusion), the prevailing thought on what has been now named the BlackBerry 8520 is that would it would be a new “low end” EDGE-only addition to the popular Curve line. In other words, …

It’s been an awful long time in coming, but AT&T’s customized remix of Nokia’s lovely E71 – the E71x – is now available for sale direct from the carrier’s site. As was revealed a little over a month ago, pricing comes in at just $99.99 on contract after rebate, which seems like a steal for a device with this level of capability and sex appeal. Of course, you’ll need to be okay with S60 3.2 — but if you can get past that, you’ve got a gorgeous all-metal shell, full QWERTY, HSDPA, 3.2 megapixel …

In case you needed any more evidence that the full touchscreen cellphone fad is in full swing, we’d present to you this little midrange number — Samsung’s just-announced Tocco Lite for the UK market. Just the latest member of the now well-established Tocco series, the Lite is actually little more than a specific branding of the S5320 that we saw back in March, offering EDGE data, a WQVGA display, 3 megapixel camera, TouchWiz interface, and integrated FM radio. Look for it to hit up British stores come mid-May.

We don’t know everywhere that the i7500’s going to land yet — the presence of AWS 3G is still giving us loads of hope that it’ll come to T-Mobile USA eventually — but one place we’re quite sure of is Germany, where O2’s local outpost has now said that it’ll launch in “the next couple of months.” That lines up nicely with what we’d been expecting prior to the phone’s announcement — so now we just need, oh, say, about 20 more announcements around the world and we’ll be good …

We knew that endless product tie-ins would come along with the new Star Trek film, so this isn’t too big of a surprise (though it is rather a welcome one). A new Star Trek special edition of the 5800 has been announced to coincide with the release of the new J.J. Abrams epic, and while it doesn’t appear to be an official Nokia release, it does appear to be pretty rad. The handset is going to boast four animated screensavers, three wallpapers, and eight exclusive ringtones, including ones named “Phazer …

HTC, Vodafone, android »

While white seems to have been the color of choice for most official demos of the HTC Magic, there’s also a black version headed to Vodafone (and other carriers, eventually), and the folks at Netbooknews.de got their hands on one of those once mythical handsets for a video unboxing. As you can see above (and in the video after the break), the packaging is a pretty sparse affair, as are the bundled accessories, which includes only a USB cable, a power adapter, a basic wired headset, and a case that …

We know what you’re thinking: you’d love to see some video of Samsung’s very first Android device — the I7500 — but you don’t want to watch it unless the soundtrack for the clip is foreign hair metal. Well, we aim to please at Engadget, so without further ado, we present this totally bitchin’ flick of the phone in action, replete with the rockingest shred-fest this side of… wherever this band is from. Enjoy!
